Seriously boys own stuff with these mini comic publications all featuring war and battles. Established in the 60's Commando Comics publishes stand-alone comics in four separate issues released bi-weekly (practically two a week!) in its Commando Action Adventure, Home of Heroes and Silver and Gold collections.
Each issue is its own stand-alone story set in a particular period of war. From the World Wars, through to the American Civil War, occasionally some Medieval stories and even the Falklands and Korean wars, Commando stories celebrate heroism in wartime.
